40 trees have already been planted this Spring, and over 50 more are in the process! Some of the local community groups we are working with include: the Central Congregational Church (8 trees will be planted there), the Hennigan School, and Urban Edge (they have properties around Egleston Square and Washington Street).

Though our policy group has taken a short break, they are ready to get back into action. We also sent about 150 postcards to Mayor Menino, which were signed at the Wake Up the Earth fest. The postcards stressed the importance of the need for a protection policy for trees on private properties in Boston.

Upcoming Events:

Thursday, June 6, 6:30pm - JP Trees meeting at June Bug. This meeting will be centered around organization and better identifying what our goals are as a whole.

Saturday, June 9, 11am - Frisbee, food and flyering. Friends and family are welcome. We will be meeting at the open space along the Southwest Corridor Park between Stonybrook station and New Minton Street (where the tennis courts are).
