Business Matters

Regular meetings are to begin again on the second Monday of every month at 6:30pm at Junebug Cafe. This will be the default location unless someone volunteers their home as a meeting place.

There will be rotating monthly facilitators who will create the agenda for meetings and send updates on Yahoo Groups.

Updates

Working with the Hyde Square Task Force and their kids to coordinate a youth/street tree outreach program. Some ideas for the street trees include: building wells, watering, and business owner education. Centre Street may be the initial starting point as it is the most visible and frequented.

Though a lot of flyering/door-knocking has been done, this is an area where more can certainly be done. A "startup package" for those who have not yet done this is in the works.

New articles/opinions written in the JP Gazette (see links under Relevant Reading).

The policy group is working on a document to present to the Mayor. Once edited, another meeting may be set up with Jim Hunt's office to review this document. Councillor Tobin's office has offered to help with research if we have questions. A proposal was suggested to come up with three questions for Tobin's office.
