The main area that needs the most help right now is the Setback Trees Project. We need more people to reach out to potential stewards and/or evaluate sites. These are the two most important steps to actually getting all of those trees planted!
We generally have a good-sized group on planting days, but if you are most inclined to plant, we won't say no.

There are varying methods of outreach--tabling, door-knocking, and flyering are our most common approaches.
A comprehensive outline of procedures for tabling can be found on the December 29, 2007 posting. It is labeled "Tabling 101." Please refer to that posting for detailed instructions on tabling.
The flyering information (including door-knocking) is also included in a separate posting on December 30, 2007. It is labeled "Flyering 101."

Once
the outreach has garnered a good number of interested folks, we then have to evaluate all of the potential sites.
The information and instructions for completing site evaluations can be found on the December 30, 2007 posting. It is labeled "Site Evaluations 101." Please refer to that posting if you are willing to perform site evaluations.

The final step in the setback trees project is the planting of the tree(s).
The planting guidelines can be found under "Planting 101" on the January 9, 2007 posting.

If you are interested in offering your assistance with outreach, evaluations, or plantings, please contact Rachael (our volunteer coordinator) at earth2rach@gmail.com
